Lochaber is the jewel of the Scottish west Highlands centred on the popular town of Fort William, which lies between Loch Linnhe and Ben Nevis, the most popular mountain in the UK.

The Lochaber area is a major visitor destination having a substantial number of outdoor sports and activities available. It is supported by many small businesses providing holiday Scottish accommodation, but we recommend that you stay at our estate in Glen Spean, Tulloch. The Lochaber area has many magnificent annual events including the Ben Nevis Race in September; The Glen Nevis River Race; five separate Highland Games; two UCI mountain biking competitions; the Scottish Six Day Trials; the World motorcycle trials championships and many others which you can find on the What's On section.

The Lochaber area has five distinct regions. From the south, the Lochaber area begins in Rannoch Moor and Glencoe including Kinlochleven on the West Highland Way, and goes all the way north into the Great Glen, it goes from Fort William all the way to the Atlantic west coast along the Road to the Isles to Mallaig and includes the Small Isles of Eigg, Rhum and Muck; it extends all the way out to the most westerly part of the UK mainland at ArdnamurchanPoint. Lochaber also includes the Glenspean area and Loch Laggan - Monarch of the Glen country, and part of Argyll in the south west. Did you know Loch Ness - at Fort Augustus is only 38 miles from Fort William, and so easy it visit in an afternoon ?
